over the weekend, saturday, may 19, 2012, burnz and i met with her other set of friends which became my new set of friends as well. it was wine night for all of us. best place to go which has the best wine selections, The Tinder Box. Its a two storey building which has a bar at the second floor called, "Z". commonly known as the "Z Bar" here in Cebu. Here's our ganap at Z.

the Z Bar is designed by world famous furniture designer, Kenneth Cobonpue, a Cebuano. when you enter this bar, its like a cave, a very sosyal cave! :) here's how it looks at a better angle. Dan shared to me that the stairs we stepped on before we reach the bar's entrance is made of Onyx! it reminded me of an article on KC Concepcion's condo unit in Makati which has a statement wall which divides her kitchen from the living room area and its made from Onyx. Yes, there are tiles that is made from Onyx, and according to that article, Onyx is very brittle so it breaks easily, and its very expensive, and we were just literally stepping on it! hahaha... how sosyal can that be? lol :)

i also took pics of their loo. hahaha! burnz told me that its nice din daw. ok naman... see my comments sa mga pics below. :)

everyone will agree that what's best paired with wine is cheese. so, burnz and dan ordered their favorite cheese, the age old cheese. as to how old the cheese is, we don't know! hahahaha... basta, bet nila ang lasa ng cheese na ito. ok naman siya for me kasi wala naman akong macompare with that cheese that night. had we ordered another type of cheese, i would know which one is better. there's always a next time though. :)

here's another thing i enjoyed, we had our own butler who refills our wine glass whenever it runs out of wine. so sosyal! kaya lang, when we got our bill, we were wondering why each wine bottle has a service charge. naloka kami lahat! hahahaha... iba ang service charge for the greens of burnz, hindi pinalampas! hahaha :) ... here's the major ganap while we're in Z, a foreigner complained and said to the waiter to minimize our voices, which the waiter relayed to us! hahaha... naloka kami lahat kasi its the second time na pala that their group's attention was called. the last time that they were there, at the Tinder Box, sa ground floor, a supplier of Hannah (Interior Designer) really approached her and said to the group to minimize their voices. hahahaha... ngayon, kasali ako sa grupo, our attention was called na naman! hahahaha... but we said, HELLO, its a bar nga diba? so, pwede mag-ingay! hahaha... but we decided to bring our noise somewhere else! hahaha :) here's the ganap of our change location peg! lol :)

we then went to Maya Mexican Resto (I blogged about Maya) and brought our noise there! hahaha... Maya and Tinder Box is located on the same street so may i tawid lang kami sa kabilang building. lol :) ... At Maya, we had mojitos and quezo fundido. we had a  very good laugh and convo at Maya.

after Maya, burnz, dan and hannah felt hungry so we proceeded to Ramen 168 Noodle House, located beside Maya Resto. There, they satisfied their hunger. hahaha... here's our ganap there.

after Ramen 168, we decided to have more wine since dan brought wine with him. this time, we proceeded to hannah's residence! walang humpay na inuman, kaloka! :) ... at hannah's place, we played pinoy henyo while drinking wine. sobrang lakas ng tawanan namin, sobra! i really had a good time playing the pinoy henyo game, as in! by the way, hannah is the interior designer of some of the fine establishments here in Cebu. the likes of "The Pantry" (link: click here), and Red Mango in Ayala. here's the ganap at hannah's crib. :)

that saturday night was a totally hilarious unwinding experience with these guys, super! the stories, experience and games shared were fun and i cant help but recall. i hope everybody still remembers what we've been through that night! hahaha! oh well, cheers to another loud gathering and story telling! :)

i don't know, but i think God just gave me a sign. Ciara Co is the owner of Cebu Home Builders, Dan Climaco is the owner of Curtains Unlimited, Hannah Lim is a known Interior Designer, and i was with my ever supportive friend, Burnz. I was surrounded with people that has something to do with designs that night. I guess this is a sign that I really need to finish my house! hahaha... Ciara, Dan and Hannah, wag nyo ako tipirin sa discounts! hahahaha :)

sales and marketing operations, the department i belong to, celebrated "family day" yesterday, may 13, 2012. all employees who belong to this department can bring along members of their family to the event, have fun and widen their social circle. the event was a success! everybody had fun, even the ceo of our company, as well as his wife whom he tagged along. hahaha ... we definitely obliged them to join our fun parent's activities! hahaha! i also did get to have a chitchat with them as we were seated beside each other... rubbing elbows! i so like! hahaha :) here's my pic with our ceo, Christophe, and his lovely wife. :)

one of our activities during our Family Day was to dress-up the parents with diapers (just like a baby), and let them crawl to and fro the finish line. all parents were obliged to join, and sure, the game really gave them a hard time! hahaha... christophe said, " i didn't expect it could be this fun!" hahahaha... well, see below what the game has done to christophe and his wife, as well as with the other parents! it brings out the competitivness in them! hahaha :)

oh well, we also have a parent and daughter/son tandem activity! this time, its a limbo rock game! hahaha... testing everybody's flexibility! hahaha... hmmm. other's were already crawling though, kakaloka! umeeffort lahat to win, kaloka! :)

here's another fun activity wherein everybody has to follow what the clown will do to the tune of the song. hahahaa... kakaloka kasi they the clown made steps to tire out the parents... hahaha... its a battle of stamina and flexibility... i had fun watching the parents and children groove! :)

this event brought all of us from the smo department closer. christophe asked me if we also celebrate father's day... i said yes, but we haven't planned for that activity... this event was a coincidence that it was staged also on mother's day. all the mothers during this event were given flowers, in chocolate form. sweet! :)

i met with Peewee Senining (one of my fave fashion designers here in Cebu) last week and asked him to design and make me "above-the-knee" length shorts for the summer season. otherwise known as bermuda shorts. its been a long time that i've been looking for this at the RTW men's wear section of any department store but to no avail. what's available are boring neutral colors which doesn't have my size to make things worse. i always end up feeling sad and unloved! charot! hahaha ... after this bad experience, my first option will always be customized design and not RTW's! lol :)

it was also my first time to look for a cloth that would suit my skin and first consideration is always "comfort". it would have to be something that i should be comfortable wearing. i remember texting peewee on this regard, if i could choose my own cloth. in fairness, he allowed me to experiment on it. so, after asking numerous sales ladies at the garment section, i found the cloth that suits my taste, and its japanese linen! :) when Peewee learned of the kind of cloth i chose when i presented it to him, he also liked my cloth choice and the colors as well! oh diba?! :)

i did the fitting  at Peewee's shop, located  Maguikay Road, Mandaue City. His shop is located near Unitop Maguikay, beside Rivergold Pawnshop. This time, i took pictures for this blog. and here's the ganap at Peewee's shop. :)

i did a final fitting at Peewee's shop today and they all perfectly fitted me! super luv the finish product, as in! Peewee was not in his shop due to a prior commitment with a client but i was assisted by his assistant, Richard. so, here's my line of bermuda shorts! chos! :)

words could not express how happy i am to finally own a line of bermuda shorts! hahaha... ang tagal ko kasi itong hinanap at sa customized design lang pala ito maaachieve! my summer fashion na inaasam-asam is complete na. mabuti na lang at nakahabol pa ang mga ito before they go off season. chos! haha :)

i have an event to attend tomorrow so i'm still thinking which among these i'm going to wear. its going to be a surprise though! hhahhaa... just wait for my next post of me wearing this bermuda shorts! o diva?! :)

its been awhile that burnz and i have bonded. burnz's been really very busy lately. workdays in manila and weekends in cebu. if im not mistaken, she's been doing that for two straight weeks now. she doesn't like her sched - too much to do, so little time. chos! i messaged her on FB saying, "its so hard to squeeze myself in your ever so hectic schedule!"... and hours later, she called me that she'll be dropping by (she hasn't read my post yet on FB) to have a dessert! i had to halt myself from devouring the strawberry cake, my dessert for tonights' dinner! hahaha... initially, we were supposed to go to La Marea at Cross Roads, then i told her, let's try the gelato of Coriander since i havent tried it yet. then, she quickly decided, i'll let you try "The Pantry"... i have no idea where that is... so, off we went to "the Pantry"! Here's our ganap at The Pantry! :)

The Pantry is located at The Gallery along Mabolo Road here in Cebu. ironically, i pass by this place most of the time but never did i really tried to check this out. now, im glad i did! thanks, burnz! the first i noticed was the door, it looks old and distressed, as if it was a handed-down wooden door from past generation... well, it was just painted to be like that! kaloka! hahahaha :)

notice on that the back of the menu board are bricks! yes, real bricks! im so loving this design. i want my future kitchen to have brick walls too! i hope they're not expensive! :)

since burnz and i were there for a dessert, here's their wide array of desserts! we had a hard time deciding what to order since there's a lot to choose from, as in! hahaha :) click on the pics below to have a bigger view. :)

i caught on cam their chef making the bacon dish! it was smothered with pesto! burnz and i were drooling! control, control, control! mind over matter! hahaha :)

i am so in-love with the place that i shared to burnz that we shall visit this place again! hahaha... burnz shared to me that the interiors of this place was designed by Hannah Lim, who is also a friend of ours. She's an interior designer by profession... "BOW" ako sa interiors mo dito Hannah, as in! super luv it! :)

P.S. - Hannah, can you do the interiors of my future house? chos! hahaha :)

since im very much into greens these days, and by greens, i mean veggie salad. i was able to concoct two types of vinaigrette. yehey! :) ... now, im experimenting on veggie smoothie! lol :)... Burnz, the ever  health conscious friend of mine has been bugging me for quite sometime now to try green smoothie (veggie smoothie). so today, i did. i bought a new blender for this sole purpose! :) ... so here's my ganap in the kitchen. :)

burnz has a recipe of her own green smoothie. she uses fresh fruits, the likes of mango, banana and etc... for my recipe (the chef in me took over again!), i tried using kiwi and cranberry... burnz told me, im so sosyal! hahahahaha... she didnt know that i just used a ready to drink kiwi and cranberry juice! hahaha... in fairness, the one i bought didnt contain artificial flavor and sugar, i made sure of it talaga. so, its healthy pa rin! chos! i must admit, i find peeling tiring na! hahaha... so, may i use ready mix of fruit juice para mas madali... well, i havent heard of any recipe that uses ready made all natural juice. so, ako ang first nito! dito nyo lang mababasa ito! chos! :) ... in fairness, pwede talaga ihalo ang natural fruit juice in tetra packs found in our local supermarket sa veggie smoothie. you should try it! :).... burnz, i know you'll be able to read this, so eto na yung na-experiment ko sa kakaikot ko sa supermarket! hahahaha :)

here's my recipe for this green smoothie:
1. a bundle of native pechay
2. cucumber (remove the seeds)
3. kiwi and cranberry juice
4. water
5. honey (optional)

all you have to do is put everything in the blender and turn the pulse on. then, taste it. its up to you what you want to add to suit your taste. it may be more honey or more fruit juice or whatever. ganun lang kasimple. :)

when i concoct something, im sorry, i dont measure. everything is based on taste. when it suits my palate, then its ok na for me. ganun lang kasimple. lol :)
