sept.16, it was a gathering of friends for the send-off lunch for burnz as she enters a new phase in her life. charot! we had lunch at Cafe Georg which i have blogged before - click here. well, my very good friend Burnz is enrolling to a yoga club to become a yogi/yoga instructor. that means, i'm not going to see her for a month! and she'll be living on her own for a month for the very first time! good luck, ses! :) i'll be terribly missing her companion but for sure, we'll keep in touch through sms. this is our ganap at cafe georg. :) so many stories were shared during this gathering. there are stories that were stressful and stories that were funny as well. oh well, its really nice to be in company of good friends. :)
burnz, i know that you've been wanting to pursue this endeavor for the longest time, and since everything has been set for you, may you be a yogi that trully inspires others, like me. chos! hahaha... i'll be your apprentice, charot! share to me what you've learned. i'm torn between enrolling in a cooking class or yoga! you know me naman, i love both! hahahhaa :) tight hugs, AC The Mistress is currently being shown among theaters nationwide but these group of men has come up with a trailer spoof of such movie. my gad, this is really a must watch coz its very hilarious! you'll gonna laugh your heart out with what they've come up. the actors performance for this spoof is to the nth level! enjoy! hahaha :) nakakaloka diba? acting kung acting! :)
tight hugs, AC i spent the whole day today at cebu international convention center to attend the Umami Culinary Challenge and Bida ka Carinderia event by Ajinomoto. my landlady and a very good friend of mine, leizel tan, was invited to be a speaker for the Bida ka Carinderia event of Ajinomoto. her success story as a businesswoman is truly inspiring so Aji mgt. chose her to speak before other carinderia owners. oh diba, sosyal! she dragged me along this event for moral support. here's ate leizel on-stage, inspiring everybody on how her business expanded due to hard work. i didn't know that she's been cooking since the age of 16, imagine! and she credited her grandfather for teaching her how to cook. so touching and inspiring. click on the pics to have a bigger view. :) also, to my surprise, i crossed path with some present and past colleagues during this event. a former colleague of mine, Jessie, is into culinary school right now and he's one of the contestants in the culinary competition. the event is full of aspiring young chefs. it feels good to be surrounded with food enthusiasts. as a food lover and a cook myself, i'm very happy to be in this event, and this is just my first time to attend of this kind. here's some of my pics with my past and present colleagues. :) the culinary competition was such a treat. an array of mouth watering dishes from different culinary schools were presented for viewers to take pics and appreciate. here are some dishes that caught my attention. :) here's how the crowd went for today's event. the event was packed with culinary students from different culinary schools. it was nice to see the culinary competition right before your eyes. really exciting! :) its the first time for Ajinomoto to hold this kind of event here in Cebu. I have to say, BRAVO for coming up with this kind of event. I really hope to be part of this again next year! sooo looking forward. Thanks for the invitation, Ryan Famador! until next year! :)
tight hugs, AC if you think you've experienced the best party in your country, wait until you see this! Tomorrowland, one of the best party places in the world, located in Boom, Belgium. this is an annual music festival in belgium, held on the month of July, where people around the world gather to party non-stop for 3 to 5 days! an event that gathers the best DJ techno mixers from around the world. definitely worth experiencing! here's what happened for this year's ultimate music festival in Belgium. if you're a party person, you have to be here! when i researched on the tickets for 2013, gosh, 2 million people are currently on queue, wanting to buy the tickets for the 2013 event! hahahaha! if you wish to know more about this event, check their website - click here.
tight hugs, AC one time, while at work, a colleague invited me to try the "BEST" chicken in town, Chosun (according to my colleague). Chosun is a korean restaurant. so, we decided to dine at this resto located at lahug, cebu. it was far from our work place. so, i told my colleague, "this better be good!". she bragged so much about the taste of this resto's chicken that i have yet to taste. the chicken dish here costs a whooping Php 500.00! kakaloka! when we arrived, i took note of the signage and the resto's facade. sorry, it didn't impress me. its not enticing at all. so, when we went in, this is what greeted us. its not messy as a resto but definitely, everything is not coordinated. some of the fixtures are old and needs to be replaced. then, i frowned because I already had a hint that its not going to be a good experience. hahaha! that kept my colleague (balor) worried. hahaha :) we took our orders. finally, the food was served, and the 500 peso chicken dish came in! hahaha... the coating of the chicken was unique coz i never tasted anything like it before but the taste is not impressive. it doesn't have a "wow" factor. then i tasted the meat of the chicken, without an iota of doubt, it tasted like ordinary fried chicken. i told my colleague, sorry, its so ordinary, i dont like it. hahaha! anyways, before the main course came in, we were served with appetizers, the likes of popcorn (appetizer???), sizzled egg (appetizer???), coleslaw (tastes ordinary), pickled raddish (this was good). sorry, i won't recommend that you try this resto. its not worth it. but out of curiosity and if you have 500 peso that you are willing to waste, try it out. lol even though i was not amazed by the food, the customer service was great. their cashier/waitress (multi-tasking) was very accommodating. here's a pic of our dining experience at Chosun. tight hugs,
AC allow me to share to you my recent achievements in the corporate arena. charot! last night i was awarded with the best kudos for the month of July, besting other colleague stakeholder's kudos. i'm blessed to have stakeholders who compose kudos for me from the heart. other than that, i also bagged the top performer for our team. i am writing about this not to flaunt but to set an example that we should always be a good soldier, to always put our best foot forward all the time, and loving our jobs. a colleague told me that the theme last night should not have been general assembly. Instead, it should have been "AC's award's night!" - so funny! i didn't expect that i'd get an award. it was unexpected but i'm very happy. the collage pic above was made by Balor, a teammate of mine. Thanks, Balor! hehe :)
sorry guys, been very busy lately with corporate stuff. chos! :) so, one time, burnz and i went to ayala cebu to dine. we chanced upon Sumo Sam, of which i'm familiar because marvin agustin tweeted about this a long time ago. i didn't know that they already have a branch here in cebu. so, we decided to try and check it out. Sumo Sam is a Japanese resto serving an array of japanese dish. let's admit it, japanese dish commands a pricey tag anywhere you go. Sumo Sam's dishes i must say is a bit pricey compared to other japanese resto here in cebu. especially when compared to Japengo, Nonki and Rai-Rai-Ken. what sets Sumo Sam apart from the others is that they have a wide variety of Japanese dish to offer. the service is also fast. plus, the waiters have fashionable hairstyles. so cute! lol :) here's our ganap at Sumo Sam, Ayala Cebu branch. click on the pics to have a larger view. :) the interiors of Sumo Sam is also nice. very japanese ang peg. in resto's, im very particular with the comfort room and wash area. in fairness to Cebu Sumo Sam's management, the have very clean loo and wash area. i just don't understand why a huge plant is placed beside the toilet bowl, and its leaves overlaps a portion of the toilet bowl's seat. kindly have it removed please, or better yet, put a smaller plant that doesn't occupy too much space. here's a pic of such areas. click on the pic to have a larger view here's their menu. i took pictures of all their menu with its price so you'll all have an idea as to how much you'll spend when dining there. click on the pics again to have a larger view. :) i recommend that you try Sumo Sam because they offer really good japanese dish and experience their super fast and friendly service. :)
